Points

An optional internal currency for agencies to budget and track work per client.

Points are an optional way for agencies to budget work for each client. You give each piece of work a point value, give each brand a monthly budget, and Verbolica deducts points as work is done.

Points are separate from credits. Credits pay for AI usage; points are your own way of measuring the work you deliver.

Clients never see points

No client screen, report or email ever shows a point value. Clients see the value of the work delivered instead, plus a simple count of their ad hoc requests.

Switch points on

Points are off by default. Owners turn them on in Settings → Points, and set:

  • Point values: what each type of work costs, grouped by category. Add your own services, or bulk-edit the list by exporting and importing a CSV.
  • Value per point: the retail value of one point in your reporting currency. Reports use it to show the market value of the work delivered, so set it at what the work is worth to the client, not your internal cost.

Settings → Points, where the points engine is switched on

Budget each brand

On a brand's Points page (under Agency in the sidebar), set:

  • the monthly budget of points
  • a baseline: a fixed amount deducted on the 1st of each month for ongoing strategy work

How points are spent

  • Automatically: when Verbolica produces work, such as a blog post, a Decisions asset, a lead magnet, social posts or a strategy, the matching points are deducted.
  • By hand: log work done outside Verbolica, such as a call or a design job, from the brand's Points page.
  • Adjustments: add a manual credit or override the balance when needed.

You can attribute work to a future month, for example when you do next month's work early.

Ad hoc requests

You can give a client a monthly allowance of ad hoc requests: work they ask for outside the plan. When you log work, tick Client asked for this outside the plan to count it. The client sees "2 of 3 used this month" in their Client Room, never points.
